T1Gen - Income Tax and Benefit Return
The T1 General form is the primary income tax return form for individuals. It summarizes all your annual income, including employment, self-employment, and investment income. Most of the numbers on the T1Gen are calculated from other forms and/or T-slips, such as T4 slips for employment income and T5 slips for investment income. From the T1Gen you can also see all the deductions (like RRSP contributions and child care expenses) and credits (such as the basic personal amount and charitable donations). It calculates your taxable income, determines the tax payable, and shows whether you owe taxes or are entitled to a refund.
