T4A(P) – Statement of Canada Pension Plan Benefits
To enter your T4A(P), use the Tslips tab or the Tslips tree view on the left side of the screen. See Tslips Sections for details on how to navigate the Tslips interface.
Box 20 – Why Don’t I Need to Enter It?
Box 20 (taxable CPP benefits) does not need to be entered manually. StudioTax calculates and fills it in automatically based on the other amounts you enter on the slip.
Enter the following fields from your paper slip:
| Box | CRA Description | What to enter |
|---|---|---|
| Box 14 | Retirement benefit | Enter the amount shown on your slip |
| Box 23 | Number of months – retirement | Enter 12 (or the actual number of months you received CPP retirement benefits) |
| Box 20 | Taxable CPP benefits | Leave this field as-is — StudioTax fills it in automatically |
Box 20 includes all benefits from boxes 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, and 19. Once the slip is complete, this amount is reported on line 11400 of your return.
