Supported Versions

StudioTax is compatible with the following versions of Windows:

Windows 10
Windows 11

End of Support for Older Windows Versions

Starting with StudioTax 2024, Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 are no longer supported due to technical constraints that prevent us from maintaining compatibility with these older operating systems.

We understand this may be inconvenient, and we sincerely apologize for any disruption this causes.

Why Can’t I Use an Older Version of StudioTax?

If you are on Windows 7, 8, or 8.1, you may consider using an older version of StudioTax that was released when those systems were still supported. However, please be aware that older versions can only be used to file returns for the tax year they were designed for.

A Note on Windows 7

Windows 7 reached its official end of life on January 14, 2020. Microsoft no longer provides security updates or support for this operating system. As a result, most modern software — including web browsers and online services — has dropped support for Windows 7. We strongly recommend upgrading to Windows 10 or 11 to ensure continued access to StudioTax and other essential software.
