Creating a new tax return on the StudioTax mobile app is quick and straightforward. You can start from scratch or bring forward information from your previous year’s return.

Steps to create a new return

1. Open the app and tap Create a New Return from the home screen.
2. Choose whether to start from scratch or import your previous year’s StudioTax file.
3. Complete the identification wizard — fill in all required fields marked with a star, then tap Next to proceed through each step.
4. Once the wizard is complete, you can begin entering your income, T-slips, deductions, and any other relevant information.
5. Use the navigation menu to access different sections of your return, such as T-slips, RRSP contributions, and other credits.
6. Save your return regularly to avoid losing any progress.

Tips

• Make sure your personal information (SIN, date of birth, address) is accurate before proceeding.
• Have your T-slips and other tax documents ready before you begin.
• If you are filing a spousal return, you can link both returns from within the app.
